A scary moment...

Melissa and I were riding on the subway and we heard an announcement saying that we were bypassing Grand Central Station because NYPD had ordered an evacuation. Our nerves began to rush and your mind immediately begins to think: terrorists. We immediately got off at the next stop and as we came out of the subway all we could see was a huge pillar of smoke and people running. This only escalated our fear and we did not know what was going on. I got on the phone to call my mom and let her know that I was OK. She had been watching the news and told us that they were saying it was a steam pipe explosion. We are so thankful that is all it was and we are also thankful for God's hand of protection over us that day even if our nerves were rattled a little. Just a little reminder to be thankful for each day that we have to spend with family and friends.
